The Samata Party was formed in 1994 by socialist leaders including Late Shri George Fernandes and Nitish Kumar. It emerged with a commitment to equality, accountable governance and a stronger voice for ordinary citizens.

Today, under the leadership of National President Uday Mandal, the party continues to organize, participate in public life and advance its independent political identity.
